Salesforce Inspector Reloaded: A Broad Overview

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded is a must-have browser extension for Salesforce administrators and developers, designed to boost productivity.

Available on Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers, it enhances the user experience within Salesforce by simplifying data management and debugging tasks.

In this article, we’ll cover the main features and best practices for using Salesforce Inspector Reloaded effectively.

What is Salesforce Inspector Reloaded?

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded is a game-changing tool that empowers Salesforce professionals to streamline their workflows and boost productivity. As an enhanced version of the original Inspector, it’s designed to seamlessly integrate with modern browsers, offering a smooth and efficient user experience.

With Salesforce Inspector Reloaded, users can quickly access and edit essential information, boosting productivity and ensuring seamless workflows. Whether working with complex data sets or detailed metadata, Salesforce Inspector Reloaded supports a streamlined experience, helping professionals get more done in less time.

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded: Key Features

This tool is an upgraded version and provides you with many functionalities and features. Here are some top functions that come with this tool:

1. Option to Update API:

You can now update to the new version of API before its release date.

After Version 1.16 in salesforce, you can now manually update the API version directly by clicking on the option at the bottom of the pop-up whenever needed.

To restore the default behavior, delete the “apiVersion” from localStorage property.

2. Enhanced Data Import and Export:

The tool allows users to import and export data within minutes. Users can quickly extract data in CSV format for analysing and reporting and can again import it back to the org.

Earlier it was a tedious task for users and took time to import and export data.

3. Shortcuts:

This feature allows you to search directly for pages available in the Setup menu removing the need to navigate to Setup first!

This option reduces the additional loading time and extra clicks and brings you straight to the item you need.

For example, you could check your deployment status even if you are on a contact page simply by searching the name of the Setup page.

You can now also search for flows, profiles, and permission sets and access them immediately in your salesforce instance.

4. SOQL Query Builder:

This tool includes a powerful SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language) builder which makes it easier for the users to create, test, debug, execute queries within the org.

5. Field Explorer:

The field explorer option gives insights about a particular field. This includes API names, current values, field names etc. It helps salesforce professionals to understand relationships between fields in a better way.

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded: Best Practices

1. Quickly Edit Page Layout

In this tool, you can edit the page layout directly from a record.

Users can navigate to the edit page of the page layout assigned to them and can edit and view it. This can easily save you a few clicks when you have to check the layout assignment first, then actually start making the updates.

2. Show Field Metadata

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded has an option to ‘Show Field Metadata’ on the saved records.

You can navigate to either Lightning or Classic setup to further edit the field, directly from the information option which appears over the field.

3. Salesforce Audits

It allows you to conduct audits ensuring compliance with data governance policies. After the audit, users can optimise the data and metadata according to the business requirements.

4. Login as Any User

Salesforce Admins usually login as other users in the org to either test features such as a new Record Page in a sandbox, or to troubleshoot an error they are having. They have to navigate to the user record, and then login as them.

But with Salesforce Inspector Reloaded, this can immediately be done from any page, by searching the user’s name, email, or alias in the Users tab from the side panel, then clicking “Try login as”.

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded is considered efficient when it comes to User Management and other additional functionality.

With this new version, you can navigate right away to the assigned permission set page for a specific user, or simply the user page if you click on the hyperlinked User Id.

5. Edit Fields and Error Handling

If you use Salesforce Inspector Reloaded to analyse record data in fields which are not on the layout, you can edit most of them directly within the list of fields if you have the permission.

Conclusion

Salesforce Inspector Reloaded is a must have tool for salesforce professionals to boost efficiency.  By integrating Salesforce Inspector Reloaded to the flows, admins and developers can achieve greater productivity and efficiency.
